Ideal Blend of Beauty, Feel & Consistency

“Tour Preferred” is an attitude and an aptitude. It’s a skill for understanding, designing, building and maintaining golf equipment for the better player. TaylorMade’s Tour Preferred irons have long been revered by tour professionals for striking the ideal balance of look, feel, sound and performance. That comes from our unique and unparalleled ability to interpret the observations of tour professionals and turn them into reality through the union of innovative technologies and artful design. The result: irons that please the eye and live up to the skills of the better player.

Tour Preferred MC combines a player’s shape with a shallow “muscle cavity” to boost MOI, creating an unparalleled blend of beauty, feel, workability and stability. The 3- through 7-iron incorporate TaylorMade’s renowned Speed Pocket™ technology to promote increased ball speed in the lower portion of the clubface for more consistent ball speed and launch conditions across the entire face. The head’s length, topline and sole-width are all slightly larger compared to the Tour Preferred MB.

All three Tour Preferred models are offered in 3-iron through PW, feature a hand-polished satin nickel-chrome finish and are equipped with KBS Tour steel shafts and tour velvet grips. Custom shafts and grips are available.

  • Precision-engineered cavity design for the perfect blend of feel, workability and stability.
  • Every curve, line and angle shape-gauged throughout the production process for unmatched accuracy and consistency.
  • Speed Pocket™ in 3- through 7-irons increases ball speed low on the face to deliver more consistent ballspeed and launch conditions across the entire face.
  • Grooves milled to exacting specifications to promote more spin and control from the rough.
  • Forged short-irons for optimum feel, spin and control where players need it.
  • Hand-polished satin nickel-chrome finish preferred by better players.

My former clubs were the previous generation TP CB irons. Liked them alot but when the new generation hit the scene, I had to move up. Finally got a chance to use them today. Starting air temp was in the mid 40's. Ending air temp was high 50's. These irons are simply awesome. The 6 and 7 irons feel exceptionally solid and the feel is very close to forged. 8/9/pw had the feel you would expect from forged heads. I ordered my directly from TaylorMade in regular flex with the tour 90 shaft. I had a local TaylorMade fitting center adjust the lie 2 deg's flat. Being the first time out, not every shot was perfect but even on the thin hits, distance penealty was minimal and the stopping action on the green was still good. On every approach shot, the ball was resting within 3 feet of the ball mark. I absolutely love these irons.

This MC clubs reflect the evolution of TM TP clubs and the input of the best players in the world. The short irons are forged offered great feel, workability, and playability due to the muscle cavity. The mid and long irons feature the speed slot but coming from someone that played the bladez tour, I can honestly say the feel, sound and launch is more forged like but much more playable, in a great looking package! This irons are awesome! and TM customer service is second to none! Thanks to Bobby Dolan at TM and Ben at the PGA store for assisting me with my custom order. But go try the clubs !! you will not be disappointed!!!

The best TM iron I've hit

These are possibly the best feeling irons I've ever hit in my life that includes this much technology. How they got cast long irons, with a speed pocket none the less, to feel THAT soft is just insane to me. The forged short irons are just the perfect blend of mush and click, and the long irons match them. I am completely blown away by these offerings. I've own the other Tour Preferred irons since 2007, and these are the best!

I have never enjoyed playing Taylormade Irons...never. I have always played the Titleist AP2 line or Mizuno MP59s and lately Epons 302s and 503s. Recently I got fitted for the 914 AP2 and then I tried the Taylormade MCs...the blade is longer than the AP2; the top line is blade - eek, but here is the kicker...they are extremely straight and very forgiving. They go through the ground easy and I can control flight and trajectory easily. They are perfect!

Received it on Saturday and played a round on Sunday.

I had it custom fitted myself with Dynamic Gold X100, the general shaft I use with the Tour Preferred MC heads.

The ball flight was more manageable with controlled side movement. I was hitting 230 yards with a 3 iron which I could never do (Can you make a 2 iron for me?).

I recommend it to mid/low handicapper who just needs small amount of forgiveness and controlled shot shape.

These are great irons. Definetly a smaller sweet spot then on a cavity back but when you strike the ball properly they fly. Like butter! There are no other clubs that look as nice or play as nice as these tour preferred's.
