LEARN MORE ABOUT SLDR

MORE LOFT. MORE DISTANCE. CRAZY BUT TRUE.

The SLDR Trust Guarantee: Love Your New Distance, or Your Money Back. Learn More. (link to taylormadegolf.com/guarantee)

  • Low forward CG makes SLDR our lowest spinning driver ever
  • SLDR unlocks that distance by enabling the golfer to hit the ball higher with less spin – WHEN THEY ADD LOFT
  • SLDR can help all golfers get closer to the ideal launch conditions of 17*/1700rpm
  • All golfers can achieve distance gains without changing their swing or ball speed
  • SLDR is built to help you hit longer/straighter drives by promoting a high launch angle, lower spin-rate and faster ball speed.

That’s what makes SLDR our longest driver ever.* And now your extra distance comes guaranteed. Trust your new distance, or we’ll give you your money back.*

SLDR’s CG location is both low and forward, due in large part to the large, 20-gram sliding weight on the sole. That promotes a dramatic leap in distance.

Moving the CG forward in a driver is a monumental shift in metalwood thinking. For years it’s been accepted that low and back was the ideal CG location for a driver. We’ve found this is not the best way to generate the most distance.

Long distance comes from combining of fast ball speed, high launch-angle and low spin-rate. We’ve discovered that moving the CG forward promotes more ball speed and less spin. To launch the ball on a high enough angle to maximize distance, we’ve discovered that most golfers benefit from increasing their loft, some by as much two or three degrees.

In addition to the low-forward CG benefits, the SLDR weight also represents a complete reinvention of movable weight, making it more effective and easier to use.  Movable weight shifts the clubhead’s CG horizontally toward either the heel, to promote a draw, or toward the toe, to promote a fade. SLDR’s sliding weight allows you to shift the CG far enough to promote a side-to-side trajectory change of up to 30 yards.

The SLDR weight slides on the track and never comes loose from the clubhead. To slide the weight to any of the 21 positions on the track, simply loosen the screw, slide the weight, then tighten the screw. It takes as little as ten seconds. And the sole is marked with the words “fade” at the toe-end of the track and “draw” at the heel-end of the track to make it clear where you should position the weight to promote the shot-shape you want.

SLDR also incorporates our Loft-sleeve Technology, which allows you to adjust the loft. You can choose from 12 positions within a range of plus-or-minus 1.5 degrees of loft change. SLDR is available in three lofts – 9.5°, 10.5° and HL.

Aesthetically, SLDR’s confluence of shape, color and visual accents make it one of the most visually compelling clubs we’ve ever created. Its striking modern-classic shape, charcoal-gray crown and chrome “button-back” all adds up to a remarkably beautiful appearance at address. And the clean design of SLDR’s movable weight mechanism, including the single, blue weight and the track it slides in makes its appearance equally striking.

  • Low-and-forward CG promotes high launch, fast speed and low spin for huge distance
  • Easy and intuitive SLDR movable weight promotes up to 30 yards of shot shape adjustment
  • Increase or reduce the loft 1.5° with 12-position loft-sleeve
  • Silver button-back works with subtle crown markings for easy clubface alignment
  • Stunning modern-classic shape with charcoal-gray crown

Comments about TaylorMade SLDR TP Driver:

Got fitted a month back and finally pulled the trigger on the purchase directly from TM.com. It landed on my door step on a Wednesday afternoon and played 18 on Thursday a.m. I used it on tee number 1 for the first hit and nailed in down the middle. This is a major upgrade going from the original R11 9degree, stiff shaft. I'll probably go tinker with it a bit, but I had immediate improvements with the stock settings... So happy I made the purchase!

Comments about TaylorMade SLDR TP Driver:

I've always been an above avg driver of the golfball (Titleist 910 D2 *7.5 Motore Speeder VC 7.1 stiff) but my trajectory was still to high and landing angle was to steep.

So over the long and brutal winter in Ill I went to the TM Performance Lab at Olympia Fields CC for a driver fitting. What a set up- Brad had all the TM custom shaft offerings plus dozens of others!

I was very leary of the "Loft Up" campaign, as a high ball hitter, but the SLDR head and State of the art simulator, and I mean STATE OF THE ART! had my best results with the *9.5 head, Oban Kiyoshi Black 65 stiff (a shaft not even offered though TM Custom Dept).

The club came with in one week, no delay. I've since gone to the range several times and played three rounds. Accuracy is improved, ball flight is much lower and distance is Outstanding all as a result of a professional Tour like fitting!

If you want to drive the ball well, get a SLDR TP, if you want to hit a driver better than ever before go to TM Performance Lab somewhere in the USA and get properly fit, its a Tour fitting expierence that you'll be recommending to all your friends.

      Thanks Brad

Upgraded from a R11s TP at 8.5 degrees to SLDR TP playing at 10 degrees and have picked up 10+ yards. Outstanding driver and I love the accuracy and the new sound.

Comments about TaylorMade SLDR TP Driver:

I only have 3 rounds with this driver but it was an instant Wow! The distance is great, just as long as any driver I've hit (I've hit them all). It has been crazy accurate for me. Easy to work both ways, good penetrating ball flight, nice sound and looks.

I went from a 8.5 ping anser with diamana bb to a 10.5 Sldr with matrix 6m3. I had the Titleist 910d3 8.5 and r11 prior to the anser. I will not change unless there is a noticeable difference, the Sldr has been the best for me so far.

I don't think I've ever used a driver higher than 9.5, I'm a high spin player so less loft is usually my friend, but the 10.5 gave me great launch and spin numbers.

Cons: well, this driver has exceeded my expectations, so I have nothing to complain about.

Comments about TaylorMade SLDR TP Driver:

Tested this on a whim, I can't think of a Taylormade product I have ever liked going all the way back to their bubble shafted woods. I typically like smaller 430cc or so heads and am just getting into adjustable drivers, the SLDR is my 2nd adjustable. I honestly wanted to hate this club, I demoed a 9.5 with a stock X flex and while the shaft was a bit torqued up for my taste I was impressed by the sound and feel of the club, it was launching a bit high, and spinning a bit too much, and the shaft was wrong, but I could see the potential. It was way more forgiving than my current driver which I have set to 7.5 degrees and way open to get launch and spin numbers close, and it feels and sounds considerably better as well. It looks smaller than it's 460cc size and the view from the top is pleasant. I picked one up in 8 degrees with the TP shaft and I immediately picked up some distance, tightened dispersion by a ton and improved the ballflight. The name of the game with this driver is spin, if you generate it it will cut it down, I was hitting 14.5 degrees of launch with 1800rpms on the trackman with ball speed in teh 160's, that's closer to optimal than I have been with any driver to date. People are touting that you need to increase loft and that may be true, but at 8 degrees it launches great for me, and I was able to still launch and carry well when I turned it to 6 degrees. If you are a high speed/spin driver this will help your numbers immensely, if you're ss is below 100 and you need the spin this probably isn't you're best choice. But for guys like me who launch it plenty high but need to kill spin this thing delivers in a big way. In short, I'm still not a TM fan, but this thing feels and looks way different than what I'm used to seeing from TM and if it works, it works. Good job with this one, I'm impressed.
