LEARN MORE ABOUT SLDR

MORE LOFT. MORE DISTANCE. CRAZY BUT TRUE.

The SLDR Trust Guarantee: Love Your New Distance, or Your Money Back. Learn More. (link to taylormadegolf.com/guarantee)

  • Low forward CG makes SLDR our lowest spinning driver ever
  • SLDR unlocks that distance by enabling the golfer to hit the ball higher with less spin – WHEN THEY ADD LOFT
  • SLDR can help all golfers get closer to the ideal launch conditions of 17*/1700rpm
  • All golfers can achieve distance gains without changing their swing or ball speed
  • SLDR is built to help you hit longer/straighter drives by promoting a high launch angle, lower spin-rate and faster ball speed.

That’s what makes SLDR our longest driver ever.* And now your extra distance comes guaranteed. Trust your new distance, or we’ll give you your money back.*

SLDR’s CG location is both low and forward, due in large part to the large, 20-gram sliding weight on the sole. That promotes a dramatic leap in distance.

Moving the CG forward in a driver is a monumental shift in metalwood thinking. For years it’s been accepted that low and back was the ideal CG location for a driver. We’ve found this is not the best way to generate the most distance.

Long distance comes from combining of fast ball speed, high launch-angle and low spin-rate. We’ve discovered that moving the CG forward promotes more ball speed and less spin. To launch the ball on a high enough angle to maximize distance, we’ve discovered that most golfers benefit from increasing their loft, some by as much two or three degrees.

In addition to the low-forward CG benefits, the SLDR weight also represents a complete reinvention of movable weight, making it more effective and easier to use.  Movable weight shifts the clubhead’s CG horizontally toward either the heel, to promote a draw, or toward the toe, to promote a fade. SLDR’s sliding weight allows you to shift the CG far enough to promote a side-to-side trajectory change of up to 30 yards.

The SLDR weight slides on the track and never comes loose from the clubhead. To slide the weight to any of the 21 positions on the track, simply loosen the screw, slide the weight, then tighten the screw. It takes as little as ten seconds. And the sole is marked with the words “fade” at the toe-end of the track and “draw” at the heel-end of the track to make it clear where you should position the weight to promote the shot-shape you want.

SLDR also incorporates our Loft-sleeve Technology, which allows you to adjust the loft. You can choose from 12 positions within a range of plus-or-minus 1.5 degrees of loft change. SLDR is available in three lofts – 9.5°, 10.5° and HL.

Aesthetically, SLDR’s confluence of shape, color and visual accents make it one of the most visually compelling clubs we’ve ever created. Its striking modern-classic shape, charcoal-gray crown and chrome “button-back” all adds up to a remarkably beautiful appearance at address. And the clean design of SLDR’s movable weight mechanism, including the single, blue weight and the track it slides in makes its appearance equally striking.

  • Low-and-forward CG promotes high launch, fast speed and low spin for huge distance
  • Easy and intuitive SLDR movable weight promotes up to 30 yards of shot shape adjustment
  • Increase or reduce the loft 1.5° with 12-position loft-sleeve
  • Silver button-back works with subtle crown markings for easy clubface alignment
  • Stunning modern-classic shape with charcoal-gray crown

        Comments about TaylorMade SLDR Driver:

Had a 10.5 degree RBZ, but was not always consistent. Mostly hit a powerfade, with the possiblility of a pull or big slice as a result. Taylormade Rep was at a local golf store, so I stopped in. SLDR ball flight comes off very low,and I already hit the ball low, so we went to a 12 degree. He fit me for a lighter shaft, and it was magic. For the first time in a few years, I know exactly where the ball is going instead of hoping where it goes. If you are going to spend this much on a club, you want the right one. Get fitted with a professional, and you won't be disappointed. Fantastic club.

Right out of the box, and I do mean right out of the box, no adjustment,I stepped up to the first tee on a Jack N designed course and without ever swinging this club I sent a perfect draw about 260 into a slight wind. Like most right handers I almost always fought a slice, but only one hit went right and only one hit hooked over the course of the day. All shots were gentle cuts or draws. Where was this club when I was a young man? If you buy one get the 12 degree loft you will not be disappointed.

                Comments about TaylorMade SLDR Driver:

I'm pretty immune to golf clubmakers' hype. Heck, if all the claims were true, I should be averaging 600-700 yds/drive by now! But, given that I'm 71 and still struggling to get back to a single-digit index, I tested the 10.5, 57g 'S' version of it set at 'one click' draw bias. This club allows me to play like I was in my 50's again. It's the golfer's version of Viagra. I know the shaft I have (the 57 gram Fujikura) is actually their EXS 5.1 model [not, per se, a "Speeder"], but it is a good golf shaft. And, to get the TP edition with the Speeder shaft was an extra $100 or so and likely a fool's errand for me with my modest 100-105 swing speed. The probable reason I'm getting 15-20 yds back is the much lower spin; I tend to impart a lot of spin regardless of club. Too steep but I'm an old guy with lots of swing faults. This club lives up to its hype.

                  Comments about TaylorMade SLDR Driver:

Great driver if you hit it relatively close to the sweet sport. I hit it well at the Taylormade demo days but then I noticed over time it penalizes you quite a bit it you don't hit its narrow sweet spot. It's not a driver you can hit higher on the face or closer to the toe or heel like I can with my R1 and get away with it..sure not great distance but my R1 on mishits provides better distance than the SLDR gave me. More of a players driver than a game improvement driver as I need a driver that helps out on days when your swing is not at its best. But If you hit all your drives flush, then the SLDR is the driver for you as it does provide crazy distance due to the lower spin if your swing is well above average.

                    Comments about TaylorMade SLDR Driver:

I am super happy with this driver. I am on the golf team for my high school and I lowered my handicap by 4 (from an 8 handicap to a 4 handicap) just by being able to hit these drives into the fairway. My old callaway driver (not a great model) used to go left and right and only traveled around 240 yards however this driver can easily break 250-260 yards on a good shot. The only problem with this driver is that it's flight is kind of low compared to other drivers so I recommend lofting up. Looking forward to playing in some tournaments soon using this driver!

This is a poor driver. I hit drivers from all major brands at a demo day today, and this was by far the worst driver I hit. Avoid the Taylor Made SLDR at all costs. Taylor Made gets a quadruple bogey with this driver.

I've been thinking about buying TM for awhile but originally landed on the Titleist 913 D2 9.5 adjusted to 10.25. I thought that club was long until purchasing a TM SLDR 10.5 stiff shaft recently and playing a course with known distances, man I smoked this driver. In fact it easily out drove my 913 by 30 yards on avg. I cannot believe how seriously long it is. I was able to drive 2 par 4's leaving it short of 1 more. Having eagle putts on par 4's is amazing but making the birdies was really satisfying. Shooting 77 was the kicker after starting off dbl, dbl and having your buddies shaking their heads in disbelief.

                        Comments about TaylorMade SLDR Driver:

I ordered the 10.5 with a custom shaft (Fukijara Fuel 70) and took it to the range for the first time today. I previously owned a burner super fast 2.0, the same loft. At first the loft was a little low and perhaps with a little too much fade. I added a degree of loft up to 11.5 and moved the weight one notch towards the draw side. It changed everything. Id swing easy, medium, hard and it would produce this 280 yard bombers with a slight draw, and even when I swing worst it was a long slight fade. This was done all while hitting beat up range balls and in cold NY weather. Speedblade and sldr fairway and hybrid are also stellar. Great Job Taylormade!
