BALL JUST SHOOTS OFF THE HEAD.GOES LONG AND HIGH. I THOUGHT THE R15 COULD NOT BE BEAT BUT...THE M1 IS LIKE IT'S BIG BROTHER. SOUND WHEN HIT ON SWWEET SPOT IS DEFINITELY QUIETEER THAT ANY CLUB I EVER HIT.YOU CAN TELL IT IS SOLID. I GAINED 10-15 YARDS JUST BY GETTING IT. THE MORE I UE IT THE MORE CONFIDENCE I HAVE. IT SURE WAS NICE TO HAVE IT BEFORE THE RETAIL MERCHANTS DID. I WAS ASKED BY MU FAVORITE GOLF STORE IF I WANTED TO COME IN oCT7-8 AND TRY IT OUT. MY REPLY WAS DON'T NEED TO I ALREADY HAVE ONE. YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN HIS MOUTH DROP OPEN. THEN TO MAKE IT BETTER I BROUGHT THE M1 DRIVER AND FAIRWAY IN THE STORE. I ALREADY HAVE THE RESCUES ON ORDER. SECOND ROUND W/ M1 -- I SHOT A 68.4 BIRDS AND NO BOGEYS FIRST TIME EVER!!!! THE GAME IS A LOT EASIER WHEN YOU ARE HITTING SHORT IRON TO THE GREEN.CAN'T WAIT TO HAVE A M1 HAT.
Went to a demo days at the local country club and hit the M1 and liked it. Was able to also hit the R15 430 later and hit it the same as the M1. Both clubs are incredible and for a couple of hundred dollars less it is a no brainer. The club head adjustments are noticeable and you'll find that you can tweak your ball flight. I love it! Thanks TaylorMade for a great driver.
I've tried almost all makes of drivers out there pretty religiously and my last club was the Jetspeed. I then switched to the new Titleist and immediately noticed a shorter drive and lower trajectory, even at the highest settings. Jetspeed ball flight was all over the place and then tried the Aero Burner by accident. Man was I surprised. Every drive (10 total) was high straight and far - thats enough for me :) Ok the graphics on it aren't the best I've seen - but once you see your ball flight, aesthetics won't matter anymore.
Was at demo day pounding all brands of drivers to no avail. Taylor made rep came over and said try this...a mini driver. Hit 5 balls and ordered it.nSame ball flight and height pattern. No more snap hooks off the tee with my 460cc driver! Played 4 rounds with the mini driver and have hit 44/56 fairways and the add'l misses have only been off the fairway a few yards. Have hit the club off the deck only twice with good results. A real handicap reducer!
I have been through several drivers trying to replace an old Ping i20 with tour issue VTS silver shaft. I got the R15 460 TP with a UST chrome xstiff and my drviing is back. The club has ample amout of forgiveness and lives up to the mid to high launch low spin hype. I took the combo out recently and ran out of fairway on a few holes. Getting fit for the right shaft is key as the factory option might not fit you.
Wow! What a great Driver! Looks so good and feels even better when you swing it. I had mine trimmed by taylormade an inch and it is still really long off the tee. It is so forgiving as well. I thought how could they top the sldr, but they did with this beauty. I recommend to anyone who wants to get in the fairway.
I am currently 57 years old and have been playing golf since I was 10 years old. Back in the eighties i got my first Taylormade Driver a Pittsburgh Persimmons 10 degree loft steelshaft at 43.5 inches. nI hit that Driver great and used it for years. More rescently I've had a RBZ and R-1 and never have hit those Drivers consistenly. My theory has been that the shaft is too long and the head too big. Well now I have the Sldr mini and this is great. I consistently hit a draw with good distance but am definitely hitting more fairways and not the pushing and pulling drives I hit with r-1 and rbz. If you have trouble with the long shafted modern drivers this could be the club for you
I was having trouble with the bigger head 460cc drivers keeping them in play off the tee. I used my 3 wood more and more off the tee just to get something in the fairway, but still having a longer shot in to the green, I wanted a little more distance with control. When I tested this in the simulator I had to have one. According to the sim my longest drive after the roll was 295, with a ball speed of 160 mph. So if you are thinking you are going to sacrifice distance off the tee, don't! I am now in the fairway more than ever with this club. I hit it high, so went with a stiff flex, 12 degree and am loving more and more every round I play. If you don't want to swing a mailbox on a stick, go get one of these today!
