Went to a demo days at the local country club and hit the M1 and liked it. Was able to also hit the R15 430 later and hit it the same as the M1. Both clubs are incredible and for a couple of hundred dollars less it is a no brainer. The club head adjustments are noticeable and you'll find that you can tweak your ball flight. I love it! Thanks TaylorMade for a great driver.
My Taylormade R15 3HL Fairway Wood is exactly what I wanted. I made the decision to carry only a driver and one fairway wood this season so I could add a gap wedge. This 3HL allows me to adjust the club from less than a traditional 3 wood loft up to a 4 wood and strong five wood lofts depending on where I am playing. I also can tweek the draw/fade but I did that on the range day 1 and don't expect to change that much. Great versatility in a fairway wood. Taylormade has done it again.
I had the standard 5 wood and exchanged it for the TP HL. What a difference the shaft made. I hit the the 5 wood okay but the 3 wood TP is a beast. A typical 3 wood for me is about 240 yds. First day out I hit a few shots over 270 yds. Just ordered 19 degree hybrid
This driver head produces lower spin numbers, allowing you to get good launch numbers. The result is a very long combination. The stock shaft isn't for everyone, but the upgraded TP shafts are great. You can also use many aftermarket shafts, and shafts from previous Taylormade drivers with the same adaptor. I found this driver to be much longer for me than other companies drivers. The two moveable weights is very smart, allowing you to customize the performance a lot, including increasing the MOI. The R15 is more forgiving than the SLDR as well.
I have been through several drivers trying to replace an old Ping i20 with tour issue VTS silver shaft. I got the R15 460 TP with a UST chrome xstiff and my drviing is back. The club has ample amout of forgiveness and lives up to the mid to high launch low spin hype. I took the combo out recently and ran out of fairway on a few holes. Getting fit for the right shaft is key as the factory option might not fit you.
