» SuperFast Technology reduces total club weight to 305 grams from average of 320 and promotes faster swing speed for added drive-crushing distance

» 1° open clubface alignment is pleasing to the skilled player's eye and promotes confidence and accuracy

» Classically shaped clubhead conveys a distinctively "TaylorMade Tour" appearance at address to boost confidence

» Massive 460 cc clubhead combined with TaylorMade's Inverted Cone Technology produces an extremely-high eMOI* that exceeds 5800 (USGA conforming)

» SuperFast RE*AX TP 50g shaft by is exceptionally lightweight and promotes increased stability at tour-caliber swing speeds

* Effective MOI (eMOI) is the positive influence on ball speed on off-center hits that's exerted by the combined effects of a driver's MOI and clubface technology (versus constant-thickness clubfaces). eMOI in TaylorMade drivers is dramatically higher, and more valuable in terms of its affect on ball speed, than MOI alone, owing to benefits of TaylorMade's patented Inverted Cone Technology.

Why doesn't the Burner feature Movable Weight Technology?
Not every player is interested in MWT™. Many prefer a "turnkey" driver that delivers a single set of launch conditions. Burner was created for them.

Why is everything about the Burner intently focused on speed?
The overwhelming majority of golfers desire one thing above all else off the tee: more distance. They want to bomb it. By building a driver that players can swing faster, and which delivers higher average ball speed on mis-hits, we can increase a player's distance significantly from shot to shot, making it more fun than ever to bomb it off the tee.

What features make the Burner faster than any other driver TaylorMade has ever created?
Burner's combination of large head, sleek shape, longer length, lighter weight and lighter swingweight work together to make it the fastest driver we've ever created in terms of potential clubhead speed and ball speed. It employs what we call "SuperFast Technology" which is characterized by added length, an ultra-light 50-gram shaft, and an ultra-light 42-gram grip.

How much does the Burner weigh?
The Burner Plus weighs just 299 grams. That's approximately 21 grams less than the average driver.

How does the sleek shape of the Burner clubhead contribute to faster speed?
The bullet-shape looks sleek and slippery, although the actual aerodynamics don't affect clubhead speed. However, because the Burner looks fast, it has a psychological impact, giving players confidence that they can, in fact, build faster clubhead speed.

How does the Burner's added length promote increased swing speed?
The longer the club, the wider the player's swing arc. The laws of physics dictate that the wider the swing arc, the faster the clubhead speed for a given swing speed. In general, the faster the clubhead speed, the longer the shot.

How does lighter overall weight promote increased swing speed?
The lighter the club's overall weight, the faster the player can swing it. In general, the faster the player swings the club, the longer the shot.

What's the difference between MOI and "effective MOI"?
MOI stands for Moment of Inertia, and is calculated using a standardized formula set forth by the USGA. MOI generally relates to a clubhead's ability to resist twisting on off-center hits. The more the clubhead twists, the more ball speed is lost, and the shorter the shot. "Effective MOI" is TaylorMade's term for a driver's ability to reduce ball speed loss and promote distance on mis-hits by virtue of both the MOI of the head and the positive effects of Inverted Cone Technology.

The graphics on Burner's crown aren't typical of TaylorMade's style. what's the story?
The graphics on the crown reflect the personality of Burner fast-looking, flashy and full of attitude. And don't forget fun. Burner is all about swinging fast, hitting the ball hard and sending it a long, long way. What's more fun than that?

Will Burner be played on tour?
Absolutely. We expect that it will quickly be put into play in the 2007 season. It hasn't been determined yet who on TaylorMade's Tour Staff will be playing it, although rookie sensation Jason Day has reportedly fallen in love with a prototype.

Was Burner TP tested on tour during development?
Like most TaylorMade TP clubs, Burner TP was developed with the input and feedback of tour pros.

How is Burner priced?
The absence of MWT allows TaylorMade to set an MSRP of $399/street price of $299 for Burner, giving us a fresh and exciting offering at that critical price point.
